To be eligible for the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification through the Project Management Institute (PMI), you must meet certain education and professional experience requirements. As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, here are the eligibility criteria for the PMP certification:

  1. Educational Requirements:
    • If you have a four-year degree (bachelor's degree) or global equivalent: You need a minimum of three years (36 months) of non-overlapping professional project management experience. Additionally, you must have accumulated 4,500 hours of leading and directing projects.
    • If you have a secondary degree (high school diploma, associate's degree, or global equivalent): You need a minimum of five years (60 months) of non-overlapping professional project management experience. Additionally, you must have accumulated 7,500 hours of leading and directing projects.
  2. Project Management Education:
  3. ou must also complete 35 contact hours of project management education. This requirement can typically be met through formal PMP exam preparation courses, which provide the necessary educational hours.
